When I first started selling my premade branding designs, I focused on increasing traffic and awareness around the web. Now that I have gotten pretty good at attracting my targeted audience, I have started to work harder at converting shoppers into buyers.
There are many strategies I could implement to convert more shoppers into buyers. However, I have decided to focus on what I believe is one of the most easiest. I have strategically placed testimonials here on RhondaJai.com and on the listing pages of RhondaJaiDesigns.com. Including testimonials on your site builds credibility and helps create an atmosphere of trust between you and potential buyers. It shows them that you already have experience selling and are able to deliver on your promises.
On RhondaJaiDesigns.com I already had a testimonial page. I also linked to it from the main navigation menu on RhondaJai.com. But I didn’t think that page stood out enough to potential buyers. So I added a few testimonials at the very bottom of the front page and on individual listing pages of RhondaJaiDesigns.com. Here on RhondaJai.com I display testimonials on the front page and the sidebar of the blog.
For my main Etsy shop, I created an image containing some of my best testimonials and uploaded it to Etsy. I placed it as the last image for some of my most popular listings. Although Etsy already display feedback on each of our listings, I wanted to have my testimonials in a more prominent place and higher up on the page. I believe having them as an image will increase the chances of them being seen and hopefully convince more shoppers to actually purchase.
I can’t believe that I have overlooked the power of testimonials. You would think that I would have made these changes sooner. Even after Etsy made the changes to make our feedback more prominent in our listings, I didn’t think about doing the same for my own websites. Oh well, I guess it is better late than never!
Even though it has only been a couple of weeks since I have added the new testimonials, I have already seen a slight increase in sales on RhondaJaiDesigns.com. I have also posted a couple of testimonials on Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest. Shortly after posting, I have received inquiries and contact requests through my main website.
I strongly encourage you to add testimonials to your website to help you convert more shoppers to buyers. When a buyer sends you awesome feedback, take the time to post it on your blog, Twitter and/or Facebook. Let potential buyers know how AWESOME you and your products are, it just may be enough to convert your shoppers into buyers.
